New Classes on my schedule

Hello everyone,

I just wanted to check in and let you know I haven't forgotten that I promised to post how to make the cards from the blog tour and I'm most certainly going to do that. I'm having terrible computer problems. I'll be just working along and it powers off like it's going into standby mode. I've had one person look at it and thought we had it fixed (thought it was over heating because it was full of DOGGIE hair......yuck...LOL) but apparently that was not all of the problem. Our computer guys at work are coming in to setup a new system and I'm going to bring it back to work with me to have them check it out! So the recipes are coming, don't give up!

Also my blog candy winner made contact with me and made her choices and her items are on their way to her now!

And one last announcement. The first Christmas Card SAS is scheduled, there will be one a month, August through November. If you come to all 4 classes you will have 40 Christmas cards and matching envelopes prepared come December! Won't that be great?! So check out my Stampin' Up calendar and let me know you plan to attend as soon as possible! I'll be posting again with more info on this topic soon, with a paypal link for you to reserve your spot for any or all classes. http://www.stampinpuppies.stampinup.net/

I'll be back soon. Thanks for stopping by and understanding about my computer issues.

D is DEFINITELY for Dog

Happy Sunday and I have another new set for you today! I love sketch challenges but have been so swamped it's been way over a month since I got to do one. So I did double duty today, actually triple duty, I've got a new stamp set plus I did two sketch challenges.

Well I'm a dog person, I love dogs, better than most people! LOL So every stamp set that Stampin' Up comes out with about dogs I MUST own! This one is really cute and I think people are going to like it. It's called D is for Dog, isn't that cute?

The first sketch challenge was Mary Jo Price-Williams over at Technostamper. She has a new sketch each Monday so I'm just squeaking in at the last minute for this one. Here is challenge and it worked quite well for this stamp set. I used the new IC's Melon Mambo and Soft Suede, first time using Melon Mambo, it's a REALLY pretty color. Thanks Mary Jo for a great sketch!

Then the second card is done using the same set and was for the Stamping 411 blog. They offer a sketch challenge each Saturday but this is the first one I've had time to play along with. What a fun sketch (411-SC108)this one was. As they said in their write up about the sketch it will be one you can go back to time and time again for a quick and cute card! Thanks Ladies!

I used the D is for Dog set and paired it with the Soft Suede (this is a real must have color) and the Melon Mambo. Used lots of circle punches to showcase the little paw print and bone and then the Very Vanilla for the background, which really made the Soft Suede and Melon Mambo ink and paper POP. I was super pleased with this card too. I'm thinking that I will make a few of these for my Vet's office to use. It went together so quick! Love that!

Well that's it for this Sunday. Thanks so much for stopping by and just a quick reminder that a week from Monday is when the next Royal Blog Tour gets started, three days of NEW CATALOG projects and lots of blog candy! Please be sure to visit the Royal Blog Tour site to learn all about the tour. Until next time.....SEE YA!

LOL Not a working farm per se with livestock for profit, they would all be companions just like my dogs! Oh and by the way I would have a LOT more dogs :) Needless to say this is a DREAM as you would have to be MEGA RICH to do that and I'm not even slightly rich. Like I said this is a dream!

Okay back to reality............both of these cards are water colored using chalks and a few marvelous markers on watercolor paper. Very simple technique that ANYONE can do, if I can anyone can! Give it a try if you liked to color as a child you'll love this technique now.

New Goodies!! Medallion BG Stamp

Hi Everyone! Let me start first by apologizing for being away so long. I've had some great workshops that have kept me very busy and we have really been gearing up for the next Royal Blog Tour on July 27th, 28th and 29th. You will want to mark this on your calendar, there will be 4 tours of 20 blogs in each tour and it will primarily be NEW PRODUCT showcased from the new Stampin' Up catalog. I can't give away any secrets but there will be some exciting surprises in store for our ROYAL travelers! You will want to check out this blog for all the details -http://www.royalblogtour.blogspot.com/ and for some very fun interviews with some of the stampers whose blogs you will be visiting during the tour, including our featured Stampers who are really quite famous out there in our little stamping world! :)

Now on to the cards I made for you using some of my NEW stuff!!! YEAH! These are all made using the NEW In Color's for 2009/2010 and the FABULOUS new background stamp called Medallion. This stamp is simply beautiful and a must have I think for your stamp collection. Look how simple these cards are just focusing on that stamp. No kidding this 4 cards took a total of 45 minutes to make and I didn't have a clue what I was going to do when I set down to work. So that time includes design. You really are going to want to get this stamp for your own!

There are no special techniques or anything on these cards so I'll just give you the products used and I think you won't have any trouble figuring out what I did. If you do though don't hesitate to ask!

Card Ingredients:
  • Stamp Set: Medallion #115223 and Thoughts & Prayers #113252
  • Card Stock: Crushed Curry, Soft Suede
  • Classic Ink: Crushed Curry, Soft Suede
  • Accessories: Brads (regular & rhinestone), Wide Oval Punch, Large Oval Punch, Crop-a-dile, In Color Markers, Crushed Curry & Soft Suede Grosgrain Ribbon, Paper Piercing Tool and Crushed Curry DSP

Thanks for stopping by and hope you enjoy the new products, I'll be featuring something new for each post for awhile, saving one set to show you during the Blog Tour.

LNS Challenge #21 - Beautiful Summer

Well my long weekend is almost over and I am VERY sad :-( You would think I don't like my job when actually I love it I just like being at home better :-)

The Stampin' Up group that I am a part of called LateNightStampers (I told you about it in the previous post) offers a challenge each Monday, this week it was to make a Summer themed card. Here is my take on the challenge hope you enjoy. This card was a lot of work! All that cutting, I don't do that too much but I had this imagine in my mind and thought it would be worth the effort this time. I'm pretty happy with how it turned out be sure to leave me a comment and let me know what you think.

The card has several layers of dimension so I tried to give you a side shot of the project so you could see what I had done if you want to make this card yourself, the Butterfly's are stamped tone on tone with their orresponding color then stamped again on Whisper White in the same color ink, both are cut out and put together with a glue dot then popped up with a dimensional from the bottom. If you have any questions be sure to let me know. Here are the details:

  • Finished Card - 5-1/4 X 5-1/4
  • Stamp Set - Dreams du Jour (#111624 - $16.95)
  • Ink - Tempting Turquoise, Cameo Coral, Ruby Red, Summer Sun Classic Ink Pads
  • Paper - Summer Sun Textured, Tempting Turquoise, Cameo Coral, Ruby Red and Pink Flamingo DSP (#113976)
  • Accessories - Paper Snips, Dimensionals, Glue Dots, Perfect Layer Tool

I appreciate very much you stopping by today on your Holiday! And as I sign off I want to Thank ALL the Military people and their families for the sacrifice you all make to keep us safe here at home with all the freedoms we enjoy each and everyday! You are ALL the BEST!

LNS Challenge #20 - Color Challenge

Two posts in one day! When it rains it pours!

Seriously though I've had time to stamp this wonderful long Holiday weekend and I've loved it.

This one will be short and sweet, I wanted to take part in the LNS weekly challenge this week, it was a color challenge and I really love color and sketch challenges. The week before the RAK Team for the same group had a sketch challenge and I didn't have time to use it then so I incorporated it into this weeks color challenge too. This is a great group and if you are looking for a group that will offer you HUGE amounts of stamping inspiration in a very POSITIVE environment this is the group for you. Check it out if you get the change HERE is a link to the site, tell them Diane sent you if you decide to sign up :) Okay enough rambling, here is the card details:
  • Card - 5-1/2 X 4-1/4
  • Stamp Set - Dreams du Jour & Soft Summer (Mini)
  • Paper - Chocolate Chip, Kraft, Ruby Red, Old Olive and Bella Rose
  • Ink - Ruby Red, Old Olive
  • Accessories - Wide Oval punch, Designer Label punch, Large Oval punch, EE Brads, Dimensionals

I really appreciate you stopping by, twice in one day! You guys are great.

Man's Best Friend - No Truer Words Spoken

I finally ordered the Man's Best Friend set that was new to the catalog in January of this year. I thought it was awfully cute and have been eager to expose it to ink! The layout for this card was inspired by a sketch challenge that the talented Mary Jo Price at Technostamper had on her blog more than a few weeks back. Check out her blog if you get a chance, like I said she is VERY talented.

For those who know anything about me you know that I LOVE dogs, so this was a set that I knew at some point I would have to own and that I would be able to use it a lot as a card from me with dogs on it would be, how shall I say.......giving a part of me. Now for the details:
  • Card 5-1/2 x 4-1/4 Top Fold
  • Stamp Set - Man's Best Friend #1132365
  • Paper - Barely Banana, Real Red and Black
  • Ink - Basic Black, Real Red, Barely Banana and Candy Lane DSP
  • Accessories - Circle punches, Perfect Layer Tool, Riding Hood Red Satin Ribbon, Tab Punch, Large Oval

Thanks so much for stopping by, check back again. I've got several more really cute cards made with this set that I'm eager to share with you.

Three Words Bright Summer Fun!

WOW the Blog Tour was so much fun and I'm actually only just now recovering from the excitement of it all, what a ride and it was due to your support! So again I just want to extend a great big thank you to you all.

For today I wanted to bring you a card I made using my new stamp set Three Little Words. When the new catalog came out this set caught my eye right away! I just liked the sayings and the images were simple but so pretty. I was also in the mood for something by of funky and bright, hence the card you are now viewing! lol The other set I used was the True Friends set which I've showcased before, I really like that set too.
This turned out to be a FUN card, it just kind of makes you feel happy :-) The colors are very cheerful! Just one more thing I wanted to point out about this card that might not show up so great on the picture was that I just one of the True Friends stamps in Versa Mark for a tone on tone background, I love that look.
Card Details:
  • Card Base - 5-1/2 x 4-1/4, top fold on the 4-1/4" end
  • Stamp Sets - Three Little Words #113254 and True Friend #110378
  • Paper - Summer Sun, Tangerine Tango, Riding Hood Red, Pacific Point and Whisper White
  • Ink - Tangerine Tango, Pacific Point, Summer Sun and Riding Hood Red
  • Accessories - Crafter's Tool Kit, Brads, Versa Mark

Well I really appreciate you stopping by today. I'll see you again in the next couple of days! Until then here's to hoping all is wonderful in your world!

BLOG Tour, STOP 1 Soft Summer

Happy Monday, April 27th! Blog Tour Day! I thought it would never arrive :-) I'm so glad you have joined us, you are in for a very scenic tour, one full of beautiful handmade cards and projects and you are hopefully going to be inspired beyond your wildest dreams.....LOL. How's that for an exciting lead in? Seriously though I hope you will be inspired as you travel the destinations we've laid out for you. Grab you a cup of coffee or your favorite beverage and relax and enjoy the tour. And thanks so much for coming!!

All three of the cards I'm showcasing today use the great new set from the Occasions Mini called SOFT SUMMER. It's a great two-step stamping set and the images are just beautiful. On this card I also used some of the new Walk in the Park DSP from the Mini. On another of the stops ahead you will get lots of ideas for this paper.

But for now here are the details for this card:

Stamp Set: Soft Summer, Three Little Words
Paper: Basic Gray, Baja Breeze,Cameo Coral,Kiwi Kiss, Whisper White and Walk in the Park DSP
Ink & Markers: Kiwi Kiss, Cameo Coral, Ruby Red, Close to Cocoa, Old Olive, Chocolate Chip
Accessories: White Grosgrain Ribbon, Crafter's Tool Kit, Styled Silver Hodgepodge, Stamp-a-ma-jig

This next card uses the other set of stamps from this set, also 2-step stamping stamps. At first I was drawn to the stamp images in the previous sample the most but after working with this image I have to say it would be difficult for me to choose a favorite now.

I love Pink and Gray together so that is the route I went on this card. The 2-step stamping with this image really makes it jump off the page. It really gives the image dimension that looks almost real. I liked how the graduating circles really drew your eyes to the image too. The scallop circle frame for this was made using the 1/2" Circle Punch! You can have a scallop frame for any size circle or oval shape that you happen to be making by using this method!

Here are the details for this card:

  • Card Base: 4-1/4 Square Card

  • Stamp Set: Soft Summer

  • Card Stock: Pink Pirouette, Basic Gray, Riding Hood Red, Watercolor Paper

  • Ink & Markers: Creamy Carmel, Close to Cocoa, Pink Pirouette, Riding Hood Red

  • Accessories: Riding Hood Red w/Very Vanilla Trim Taffeta Ribbon, Double Rectangle Punch, 1/2" Circle Punch Stamp, Stamp-a-ma-jig, Vintage Brads, Crafter's Tool Kit

And finally last but not least is another card made using the same Soft Summer set and the same images used in the first card. Remember this is a 2-step stamping set so you get lots of added dimension for your card without really even trying!

I love the Pacific Point color, boy am I going to miss this years InColor choices. If you don't already have the papers and inks with these shades you better grab them quick because they will be gone in July :( sorry I digressed there. I was talking about the card! Back to our regularly scheduled tour. As I said I love the Pacific Point color so used it as the main focal color for this card. The Kiwi Kiss color really compliments the Pacific Point well too.

Here are the details for this card but don't forget to read on down for your next tour stop link and for details about my BLOG CANDY!!

  • Stamp Set: Soft Summer

  • Card Stock: Kraft, Chocolate Chip, Pacific Point, Kiwi Kiss, Whisper White

  • Ink & Markers: Kiwi Kiss, Close to Cocoa, Chocolate Chip, Tempting Turquoise, Pacific Point, Old Olive

  • Accessories: Circle Ice Rhinestone Brads, Kiwi Kiss Striped Grosgrain Ribbon, Scallop Circle Punch, 1-3/8" Circle Punch, Large Oval Punch, Crafter's Tool Kit, Stampin Dimensionals and Glue Dots

I want to thank you so much for stopping by today and now for some exciting Blog Candy NEWS! Leave a comment on my blog letting me know which of the cards you like best and why and I will be choosing one lucky winner from all that answer using Random.org. Please only residents of the USA are eligible for the blog candy....sorry :( And the prize you ask??
