SSC52 Birthday Morning Meadow

This card was inspired by the sketch over at Sunday Stamps Challenge. ssc52 I chose to work with some of the 2013-2015 In Colors, which by the way are beautiful.  So happy they will be around a couple of years.  I also decided to ink up one of the new Hostess sets for this year called Morning Meadow.

Banners seem to be all the rage this year and so the Hexagon punch arrived just in time so that the banner tails are so005 easy to make using it.  Just slide that banner strip into your hexagon line up the strip on the first edge and punch, perfect banner tails every time. Thumbs up  007Super simple design, quick to make but oh so pretty!
As always thank you for stopping by, your comments are so appreciated.  Card Ingredients posted below along with product item number for EASY ORDERING.  See you next time.
Card Ingredients:

Birthday Banner Explosion!

Here is another new set that will be in the 2013-2014 catalog called Banner Greetings.  It’s a fun sentiment set with lots of great greetings to chose.   For some reason when I looked at the little banner I just kept thinking of an out going explosion hence this silly card!

I used one of the new In Color choices, Cantaloupe Crisp.  Layered it on 001 (960x1280)Soft Suede that looks very pretty with it and fussy cut a very narrow edge around the banner.  It was very easy to do because of the simple straight edges.

Very simple and easy to complete!  Just my kind of card. Smile

Ingredients  -  Stamp set:  Banner Greetings,  Paper & Ink Colors:  Crisp Cantaloupe, Soft Suede, Very Vanilla  Accessories:  Dimensionals, Paper Snips

Label Love Thank You

There was a HUGE city wide Rescue event here in Oklahoma City called Rub-a-Dub Race for Rescues.  They had a 5k walk, pup wash, dog agility demonstrations (fly ball it was very good!!!), vendor booths and lot of animal rescue groups with many wonderful dogs hoping to find their new homes!  I took Declan out there to meet a family interested in him, they had been following his progress throughout his treatment as he healed from the terrible condition he was in whenever Forever Yours Dog Rescue took him in.   And here' s the REALLY exciting news they took him home with them for weekend to see if they might be a good fit for each other.  Please wish him luck, the Mom of the family Angela is a VERY nice lady!!  Here’s Dec asking if he is new family had been found???005Doesn’t he look hopeful here??

After the fun of the day I was able to make it to the craft room and work on cards!  Always fun.  I wanted to use the Label Love set and some more of the Gingham Garden DSP (which is so pretty!)  And I also needed a Thank You card to send out so this is what I came up with.

002 (960x1280)I was really happy with the way it turned out.  It didn’t start that way it was one of those that the way I was seeing in my head and the way it was turning out were NOT the same thing.  But after tinkering with it a bit I was pretty happy with it Smile

Here’s a quick recap of the ingredients:

Stamps:  Label Love, Mosaic Madness, Kindness Matters   Ink:  Pear Pizzazz, Night of Navy   Paper:  Pear Pizzazz, Daffodil Delight, Very Vanilla   Accessories:  Gingham Garden DSP, Night of Navy Grosgrain Stitched, Artisan Label and 1” Circle punches.

Thanks for stopping by and taking a look, see you next time.

D is DEFINITELY for Dog

Happy Sunday and I have another new set for you today! I love sketch challenges but have been so swamped it's been way over a month since I got to do one. So I did double duty today, actually triple duty, I've got a new stamp set plus I did two sketch challenges.

Well I'm a dog person, I love dogs, better than most people! LOL So every stamp set that Stampin' Up comes out with about dogs I MUST own! This one is really cute and I think people are going to like it. It's called D is for Dog, isn't that cute?

The first sketch challenge was Mary Jo Price-Williams over at Technostamper. She has a new sketch each Monday so I'm just squeaking in at the last minute for this one. Here is challenge and it worked quite well for this stamp set. I used the new IC's Melon Mambo and Soft Suede, first time using Melon Mambo, it's a REALLY pretty color. Thanks Mary Jo for a great sketch!

Then the second card is done using the same set and was for the Stamping 411 blog. They offer a sketch challenge each Saturday but this is the first one I've had time to play along with. What a fun sketch (411-SC108)this one was. As they said in their write up about the sketch it will be one you can go back to time and time again for a quick and cute card! Thanks Ladies!

I used the D is for Dog set and paired it with the Soft Suede (this is a real must have color) and the Melon Mambo. Used lots of circle punches to showcase the little paw print and bone and then the Very Vanilla for the background, which really made the Soft Suede and Melon Mambo ink and paper POP. I was super pleased with this card too. I'm thinking that I will make a few of these for my Vet's office to use. It went together so quick! Love that!

Well that's it for this Sunday. Thanks so much for stopping by and just a quick reminder that a week from Monday is when the next Royal Blog Tour gets started, three days of NEW CATALOG projects and lots of blog candy! Please be sure to visit the Royal Blog Tour site to learn all about the tour. Until next time.....SEE YA!

Farm Life Goodness

More new goodies! Today we have a couple of cards made with the new set Farm Life (#114411). Here is a secret about me, if I could have my dream place to live, anywhere in the world it would be on a place like this at the foot of a mountain!! LOL Not a working farm per se with livestock for profit, they would all be companions just like my dogs! Oh and by the way I would have a LOT more dogs :) Needless to say this is a DREAM as you would have to be MEGA RICH to do that and I'm not even slightly rich. Like I said this is a dream!

Okay back to reality............both of these cards are water colored using chalks and a few marvelous markers on watercolor paper. Very simple technique that ANYONE can do, if I can anyone can! Give it a try if you liked to color as a child you'll love this technique now.

  • Farm Life (114411)
  • Card Stock - Bravo Burgundy, Brilliant Blue, Garden Green, Certainly Celery

New Goodies!! Medallion BG Stamp

Hi Everyone! Let me start first by apologizing for being away so long. I've had some great workshops that have kept me very busy and we have really been gearing up for the next Royal Blog Tour on July 27th, 28th and 29th. You will want to mark this on your calendar, there will be 4 tours of 20 blogs in each tour and it will primarily be NEW PRODUCT showcased from the new Stampin' Up catalog. I can't give away any secrets but there will be some exciting surprises in store for our ROYAL travelers! You will want to check out this blog for all the details -http://www.royalblogtour.blogspot.com/ and for some very fun interviews with some of the stampers whose blogs you will be visiting during the tour, including our featured Stampers who are really quite famous out there in our little stamping world! :)

Now on to the cards I made for you using some of my NEW stuff!!! YEAH! These are all made using the NEW In Color's for 2009/2010 and the FABULOUS new background stamp called Medallion. This stamp is simply beautiful and a must have I think for your stamp collection. Look how simple these cards are just focusing on that stamp. No kidding this 4 cards took a total of 45 minutes to make and I didn't have a clue what I was going to do when I set down to work. So that time includes design. You really are going to want to get this stamp for your own!

There are no special techniques or anything on these cards so I'll just give you the products used and I think you won't have any trouble figuring out what I did. If you do though don't hesitate to ask!

Card Ingredients:
  • Stamp Set: Medallion #115223 and Thoughts & Prayers #113252
  • Card Stock: Crushed Curry, Soft Suede
  • Classic Ink: Crushed Curry, Soft Suede
  • Accessories: Brads (regular & rhinestone), Wide Oval Punch, Large Oval Punch, Crop-a-dile, In Color Markers, Crushed Curry & Soft Suede Grosgrain Ribbon, Paper Piercing Tool and Crushed Curry DSP

Thanks for stopping by and hope you enjoy the new products, I'll be featuring something new for each post for awhile, saving one set to show you during the Blog Tour.

Be sure to check out the link above to find out about the Tour!

Also, SU has the WONDERFUL new Demo special starting on July 15th, I have all the details in the post below, be sure to check that out and if you have EVER considered giving SU a try this is certainly the time to do it. So let me know if I can help!

LNS Challenge #21 - Beautiful Summer

Well my long weekend is almost over and I am VERY sad :-( You would think I don't like my job when actually I love it I just like being at home better :-)

The Stampin' Up group that I am a part of called LateNightStampers (I told you about it in the previous post) offers a challenge each Monday, this week it was to make a Summer themed card. Here is my take on the challenge hope you enjoy. This card was a lot of work! All that cutting, I don't do that too much but I had this imagine in my mind and thought it would be worth the effort this time. I'm pretty happy with how it turned out be sure to leave me a comment and let me know what you think.

The card has several layers of dimension so I tried to give you a side shot of the project so you could see what I had done if you want to make this card yourself, the Butterfly's are stamped tone on tone with their orresponding color then stamped again on Whisper White in the same color ink, both are cut out and put together with a glue dot then popped up with a dimensional from the bottom. If you have any questions be sure to let me know. Here are the details:

  • Finished Card - 5-1/4 X 5-1/4
  • Stamp Set - Dreams du Jour (#111624 - $16.95)
  • Ink - Tempting Turquoise, Cameo Coral, Ruby Red, Summer Sun Classic Ink Pads
  • Paper - Summer Sun Textured, Tempting Turquoise, Cameo Coral, Ruby Red and Pink Flamingo DSP (#113976)

Man's Best Friend - No Truer Words Spoken

I finally ordered the Man's Best Friend set that was new to the catalog in January of this year. I thought it was awfully cute and have been eager to expose it to ink! The layout for this card was inspired by a sketch challenge that the talented Mary Jo Price at Technostamper had on her blog more than a few weeks back. Check out her blog if you get a chance, like I said she is VERY talented.

For those who know anything about me you know that I LOVE dogs, so this was a set that I knew at some point I would have to own and that I would be able to use it a lot as a card from me with dogs on it would be, how shall I say.......giving a part of me. Now for the details:

  • Stamp Set - Man's Best Friend #1132365
  • Paper - Barely Banana, Real Red and Black

This turned out to be a FUN card, it just kind of makes you feel happy :-) The colors are very cheerful!
