SSC52 Birthday Morning Meadow

This card was inspired by the sketch over at Sunday Stamps Challenge. ssc52 I chose to work with some of the 2013-2015 In Colors, which by the way are beautiful.  So happy they will be around a couple of years.  I also decided to ink up one of the new Hostess sets for this year called Morning Meadow.

Banners seem to be all the rage this year and so the Hexagon punch arrived just in time so that the banner tails are so005 easy to make using it.  Just slide that banner strip into your hexagon line up the strip on the first edge and punch, perfect banner tails every time. Thumbs up  007Super simple design, quick to make but oh so pretty!

Happy New Year - Challenges

Hello everyone, I've been away a really long time! Boy there just isn't enough hours in the day. I wanted to pop in though and wish everyone the Happiest of New Years. I wish nothing but Health, Happiness and Wealth to each of you out there in cyberland.

My New Year's Weekend has been a WONDERFUL stay at home weekend and so I've found time to stamp. I got to stay around the house last weekend too (Christmas) because Oklahoma had a BLIZZARD, yes you read that right a honest to goodness blizzard! It was crazy, I was so glad I was able to stay comfy and warm in my house with my Puppies and they loved it too.

The card below is a product of two challenges Mary Jo's Monday sketch challenge TSSC102 and the Diva Coffee Breaks Color Challenge #158. I just love this turtle from Stampin' UP!'s Nature's Nest stamp set, he's very fun to watercolor.

I certainly appreciate you stopping by to take a look. I'll try to be more consistent but no false promises, because I'm in the Accounting field and I'm getting ready to enter a very busy stressful time. But posting more consistently is one of my New Year's goal, not resolutions, I have a tendency to break those.

One more quick note, I'm very excited because this weekend I'll be part of a wonderful rescue effort to give new Forever Homes to two sweet sweet Pit Bull doggies. They are traveling from San Diego, California to their forever homes and are laying over in Oklahoma City on there way. Since it's a volunteer effort all the transporting is done on the weekends so they need a place to stay on their trip. I'm the lucky girl who will get to foster them. I'll try to take some pictures and post them so you can see their sweet little faces for yourself.
Remember those homeless pets out there who don't want anything but to be apart of a loving home! Adopt DON'T BUY!! You'll save a LIFE!!

Thanks and talk to you soon.

D is DEFINITELY for Dog

Happy Sunday and I have another new set for you today! I love sketch challenges but have been so swamped it's been way over a month since I got to do one. So I did double duty today, actually triple duty, I've got a new stamp set plus I did two sketch challenges.

Well I'm a dog person, I love dogs, better than most people! LOL So every stamp set that Stampin' Up comes out with about dogs I MUST own! This one is really cute and I think people are going to like it. It's called D is for Dog, isn't that cute?

The first sketch challenge was Mary Jo Price-Williams over at Technostamper. She has a new sketch each Monday so I'm just squeaking in at the last minute for this one. Here is challenge and it worked quite well for this stamp set. I used the new IC's Melon Mambo and Soft Suede, first time using Melon Mambo, it's a REALLY pretty color. Thanks Mary Jo for a great sketch!

Then the second card is done using the same set and was for the Stamping 411 blog. They offer a sketch challenge each Saturday but this is the first one I've had time to play along with. What a fun sketch (411-SC108)this one was. As they said in their write up about the sketch it will be one you can go back to time and time again for a quick and cute card! Thanks Ladies!

I used the D is for Dog set and paired it with the Soft Suede (this is a real must have color) and the Melon Mambo. Used lots of circle punches to showcase the little paw print and bone and then the Very Vanilla for the background, which really made the Soft Suede and Melon Mambo ink and paper POP. I was super pleased with this card too. I'm thinking that I will make a few of these for my Vet's office to use. It went together so quick! Love that!

Well that's it for this Sunday. Thanks so much for stopping by and just a quick reminder that a week from Monday is when the next Royal Blog Tour gets started, three days of NEW CATALOG projects and lots of blog candy! Please be sure to visit the Royal Blog Tour site to learn all about the tour. Until next time.....SEE YA!

Sweet Bella's Bloom

Hello Everyone!

I've got a really pretty card for you today. I used the set called Bella's Bloom for the image and the sentiment on this card. It is a normal 5.5 X 4.25 card base of Kiwi Kiss, the only difference is that it opens from the top rather than the side. I used the Bella Rose DSP for the circle, which is so pretty paired with the Kiwi Kiss from the base. The circle is then cut in half and adhered to the base with the two half being staggered in their placement. On top of that is a block of Riding Hood Red and Pink Pink Pirouette. The image is stamped on Shimmery White card stock, this stuff is so pretty if you not used it you should treat yourself and get some, so very elegant, the image ink is Riding Hood Red on the blooms and Kiwi Kiss for the stems. For the sentiment I stamped on a Designer Label punch and sponged around the punch with Riding Hood Red ink. Really pretty and very easy to make!

Card Stuffs:
  • Card Stock - Kiwi Kiss, Riding Hood Red, Pink Pirouette, Shimmery White
  • Stamps - Bella's Bloom
  • Ink - Riding Hood Red, Kiwi Kiss

  • Accessories - Designer Label punch, Creative Memories cutting system, Sponge Daubers

I really appreciate you stopping by to check out the blog. Be sure to contact me if you need any of these items to make your own Sweet Bella's Bloom card. Hope you are having a great weekend and I'll blog at you soon!

Punch Pal Christmas - SCS Sketch Challenge 146

I was able to work into my schedule time for the SCS Sketch Challenge this week. These are very fun and it's amazing how having just this little guidance will help you get the inspiration to make a card. If some of you are like me and the hard part to making a card is just getting started with an idea, well then these challenges are for you. It give you a nudge in the right direction, takes some of the pressure of designing off your shoulders. If you haven't tried it I encourage you to give it a shot! I used the Punch Pals stamp set from the Spring/Summer Catalog , and used brads for the ornaments. For the sentiment I used several of the punches in a new way, at least for me!! I used the Tab punch as a foundation and mounted the Designer Label punch on that for the sentiment base. See below for the details.
If you would like to learn to make this card yourself or would like to order the products showcased in the card, please give me a call or drop me an email. I would love to help you get these items for your own craft room!!
Recipe: Stamp Set - Punch Pal
Paper: Green Galore, Whisper White and Real Red, the printed paper is some that I received when I purchased my Cricut.
Ink: Green Galore, Handsome Hunter
Accessories: Ticket Corner punch, Tab Punch, Designer Label punch, Bold Bright Brads

Elegant Flowers

This card was inspired by this Wednesday's sketch challenge on SCS. I chose Brilliant Blue for the base of this card in the normal A2 size, 4.25x5.5, the only difference being that this card opens on the left 4.25 side for a bit of change! The next layer is Rose Red and I stamped it with the Crosshatch (retired) background in Rose Red Classic ink for an added look of texture. On top of the Rose Red layer I laid a strip of Brilliant Blue and layered on that a wide strip of Black wide Organdy ribbon. This looks way prettier IRL than it reflects in the photo! Next is the Always Artichoke layer, which was stamped with the same flowers that are on the front of the card using Versamark. The next layer is Elegant Eggplant (isn't this just the most beautiful color?!) and then on top of that is Whisper White on which I stamped the flowers from the Close as a Memory set, using the markers directly to stamp method. I colored the flowers with Elegant Eggplant and the stems with Always Artichoke then used the ticket corner punch to finish it off! I added the sentiment from Happy Harmony (2007 SAB set) on a circle of Whisper White layering it on circles of Rose Red and Always Artichoke. It turned out so pretty and I hope to use this sketch again, it made for a very nice card!
Thanks as always for looking!
