Three Words Bright Summer Fun!

WOW the Blog Tour was so much fun and I'm actually only just now recovering from the excitement of it all, what a ride and it was due to your support! So again I just want to extend a great big thank you to you all.

For today I wanted to bring you a card I made using my new stamp set Three Little Words. When the new catalog came out this set caught my eye right away! I just liked the sayings and the images were simple but so pretty. I was also in the mood for something by of funky and bright, hence the card you are now viewing! lol The other set I used was the True Friends set which I've showcased before, I really like that set too.
This turned out to be a FUN card, it just kind of makes you feel happy :-) The colors are very cheerful! Just one more thing I wanted to point out about this card that might not show up so great on the picture was that I just one of the True Friends stamps in Versa Mark for a tone on tone background, I love that look.
Card Details:
  • Card Base - 5-1/2 x 4-1/4, top fold on the 4-1/4" end
  • Stamp Sets - Three Little Words #113254 and True Friend #110378
  • Paper - Summer Sun, Tangerine Tango, Riding Hood Red, Pacific Point and Whisper White
  • Ink - Tangerine Tango, Pacific Point, Summer Sun and Riding Hood Red
  • Accessories - Crafter's Tool Kit, Brads, Versa Mark

BLOG Tour, STOP 1 Soft Summer

Happy Monday, April 27th! Blog Tour Day! I thought it would never arrive :-) I'm so glad you have joined us, you are in for a very scenic tour, one full of beautiful handmade cards and projects and you are hopefully going to be inspired beyond your wildest dreams.....LOL. How's that for an exciting lead in? Seriously though I hope you will be inspired as you travel the destinations we've laid out for you. Grab you a cup of coffee or your favorite beverage and relax and enjoy the tour. And thanks so much for coming!!

All three of the cards I'm showcasing today use the great new set from the Occasions Mini called SOFT SUMMER. It's a great two-step stamping set and the images are just beautiful. On this card I also used some of the new Walk in the Park DSP from the Mini. On another of the stops ahead you will get lots of ideas for this paper.

But for now here are the details for this card:

Stamp Set: Soft Summer, Three Little Words
Paper: Basic Gray, Baja Breeze,Cameo Coral,Kiwi Kiss, Whisper White and Walk in the Park DSP
Ink & Markers: Kiwi Kiss, Cameo Coral, Ruby Red, Close to Cocoa, Old Olive, Chocolate Chip
Accessories: White Grosgrain Ribbon, Crafter's Tool Kit, Styled Silver Hodgepodge, Stamp-a-ma-jig

This next card uses the other set of stamps from this set, also 2-step stamping stamps. At first I was drawn to the stamp images in the previous sample the most but after working with this image I have to say it would be difficult for me to choose a favorite now.

I love Pink and Gray together so that is the route I went on this card. The 2-step stamping with this image really makes it jump off the page. It really gives the image dimension that looks almost real. I liked how the graduating circles really drew your eyes to the image too. The scallop circle frame for this was made using the 1/2" Circle Punch! You can have a scallop frame for any size circle or oval shape that you happen to be making by using this method!

Here are the details for this card:

  • Card Base: 4-1/4 Square Card

  • Stamp Set: Soft Summer

  • Card Stock: Pink Pirouette, Basic Gray, Riding Hood Red, Watercolor Paper

  • Ink & Markers: Creamy Carmel, Close to Cocoa, Pink Pirouette, Riding Hood Red

  • Accessories: Riding Hood Red w/Very Vanilla Trim Taffeta Ribbon, Double Rectangle Punch, 1/2" Circle Punch Stamp, Stamp-a-ma-jig, Vintage Brads, Crafter's Tool Kit

And finally last but not least is another card made using the same Soft Summer set and the same images used in the first card. Remember this is a 2-step stamping set so you get lots of added dimension for your card without really even trying!

I love the Pacific Point color, boy am I going to miss this years InColor choices. If you don't already have the papers and inks with these shades you better grab them quick because they will be gone in July :( sorry I digressed there. I was talking about the card! Back to our regularly scheduled tour. As I said I love the Pacific Point color so used it as the main focal color for this card. The Kiwi Kiss color really compliments the Pacific Point well too.

Here are the details for this card but don't forget to read on down for your next tour stop link and for details about my BLOG CANDY!!

  • Stamp Set: Soft Summer

  • Card Stock: Kraft, Chocolate Chip, Pacific Point, Kiwi Kiss, Whisper White

  • Ink & Markers: Kiwi Kiss, Close to Cocoa, Chocolate Chip, Tempting Turquoise, Pacific Point, Old Olive

I think the deadline for playing is Sunday evening so I'm posting right under the wire! I thought this was a really great sketch and very easy to work with. When I saw the layout I automatically thought of Bloomin' Beautiful, it just seemed perfect for the sketch with the beautiful rose, verse and little bee. Three Clovers Challenge & Planning for Father's Day

I am really into challenges these days, I wonder how I ever motivated myself prior to that! lol First let me begin by apologizing for this picture today, I'm not kidding I took it at least two dozen times, I took it in my normal spot with all my OTT work lights, I took it with a flash, without a flash, during the day, on about 5 different settings on my camera and still it appears a bit blurry. I finally gave up and picked the best of the two dozen and decided to post as it appears here. I am very sorry for the quality. I simply can't understand how they turn out so good sometimes and then like this others.........OK deep breaths and I'm letting it go........aaahhhh.

Anyway, I used the Thoughts of Father stamp set, I believe this is one of the best values in our Stampin' Up! catalog. It has great images for father's day or any male card you might be needing to make but besides that the images are just beautiful and could be used for so many themes. This set sales for only $15.95 if you can believe that! The Three Clovers challenge this week was a color challenge - Rose Red, So Saffron and Always Artichoke, these are three of my most favorite colors so it was easy! The card layout came from a swap card I received from Shannon over on another yahoo group I am apart of called CardSwappingForFun is not a huge group but there are some talented ladies in the group and we have some fun swaps. Check it out if you are interested.

Embrace Life Scrapbook page

My blog post today is for a scrapbook page. I actually made this for my upline Jaycene @ "Ear"resistable Stampers as a sample. I don't think I've ever posted a SB page! This was a 6 X 6 layout and I was actually happy with the way it turned out! I used the long flower from Embrace Life for the center focal point and the sentiment from that same set for the words. The stamp set has some really great images in it and the same with the paper, it was used during February for lots of Valentine cards and projects but the paper is just generally beautiful and can be used any time. More page details below.

Page Details:
  • Page - 6 X 6
  • Paper - Candy Lane, Pink Pirouette, Close to Cocoa and Riding Hood Red
  • Ink - Riding Hood Red, Pink Pirouette and Certainly Celery Markers
  • Accessories - Boho Blossom Punch, Ticket Corner Punch, Designer Label Punch, Circle Punch and Word Window Punch!! WOW lots of punches! We love our punches.

Well thanks for stopping by again today, hope you enjoy the departure from my regularly card scheduled posting :-) And if you need any of these items that I used in today's project be sure and contact me.

Color Inspiration #48 & Lunchtime Sketch Challenge #64

Good morning everyone! I'm on a roll and creating again. It's feels great and I'm hoping I can keep it up! I combined a couple of challenges today. I took the Color Inspiration #48 from Kristina Werner's blog and the Monday Lunchtime sketch from the very talented Mary Jo at TechnoStamp, and combined them, both of these ladies are great about inspiring creativity!

I chose the Blooming with Love set for this card. It's a wonderful choice for a Mother's Day card or any cheerful design you might have in mind. The colors were perfect for this stamp. So very pretty. And this sketch turned out perfect to showcase that flowerpot images. I had to laugh at myself as I made this card, advanced math in school was the bane of my existence and as I looked at this sketch I thought wow this won't be hard, then as I tried to decide on the diamond square for the stamping area, I thought how do I decide what size that needs to be??? I'm sure you math geniuses out there could easily tell me what size the square needed to be in relationship to the rectangle it sets on, well NOT ME! I ended up cutting that piece down like 4 times before I found the right size! LOL So if anyone out there has the simple mathematical equation for this take pity on me and share it!!! I've listed all the other pertinent details below the card.

Here is all the stamps that come in the Blooming with Happiness set I used for this card.

Card Details:

  • Card Base - 4.25 X 5.5, Rectangle 3.25 x 4.50, center square 3.00"
  • Paper - Kiwi Kiss, Chocolate Chip, Baja Breeze, Whisper White
  • Ink - Kiwi Kiss, Chocolate Chip and Baja Breeze, Black Stazon
  • Accessories - Crafter's Tool Kit, Dimensionals, Circle punches

Well that's it for this post, as always thanks for stopping by and see you soon.

DCBD Challenge 121

One last Challenge for today. I tried the Diva Coffee Break sketch challenge and you can check out all the info about this challenge here! I'm not quite as late on this one they post their challenge on Wednesday, so I'm not doing too bad. A lot of these ladies are in a great SU! yahoo group that I'm apart of, it's a wonderful place for SU product talk and lots of project inspiration. It's called LNS, check it out if you get a chance and if you decide to give it a try be sure to let them know I sent you!

I used one of my all time favorite stamp sets on this card, Lovely as a Tree, it's been in Stampin Up! line for a long time and I'm terrified they will be retiring it! I hope not but just in case if you don't already have the set you should get it soon! This was a great sketch, I didn't really think I liked it all that much when I first looked at but as I worked it really grew on me. It made a very pretty card. All the product on the card is current Stampin Up! product except the DSP, it is the paper that was on SAB just past, very pretty stuff. All the rest of the details for the card will be listed in the Card detail area.

Card Details:

  • Card size - 4-1/4 X 5-1/2
  • Stamp Set - Lovely as a Tree and Hugs & Wishes
  • Paper - Basic Grey, So Saffron, Certainly Celery, Bashful Blue, SAB DSP
  • Ink - Certainly Celery, Close to Cocoa, So Saffron Stampin Write Marker
  • Accessories - Brads, Word Window Punch

That's it for today three posts, I'm tired. I should have posted some of these for later in the week but I was all ready late for all the challenges so I wanted to get this entered as soon as possible. Thank you so much for stopping by and let me know if there is anything I can help you with to get you stampin!

Trendy Tree Fun

Here's my second challenge of the day. On this one I took part (also late!) in MJ's Monday Lunch time sketch challenge over at Techno Stamper. Mary Jo is one of my favorite bloggers, her projects are wonderful and I always gather inspiration when I visit her site :-) Here is the sketch she offered up this past Monday.

It was a great sketch and worked wonderfully for the fantastically cute Trendy Tree set, I think it's one of my all time favorite stamp sets. I love stamping the trees in unconventional colors, hence the perfectly named trendy trees!! LOL On this card I also used the textured card stock which is so pretty and makes for a very elegant card. I didn't include a sentiment on the front of this card as I have something in mind for the inside of the card. This set also has two very useful sentiments to go with it, you can see them in the picture below.

Card Details:

  • Card Base - 5-1/2 x 4-1/4
  • Paper - Pacific Point (textured cs), Close to Cocoa, Kiwi Kiss Whisper White and Rockabilly DSP
  • Stamp Set - Trendy Trees
  • Ink - Kiwi Kiss, Pacific Point, Close to Cocoa
  • Accessories - Trio Punch, Brads, Kiwi Kiss striped grosgrain ribbon, Glue Dot, Dimensionals

Well it was nice to be back for a blog post, hopefully not so long between posts this next time. Hope you have a wonderful week. And as always thanks for stopping by!

Who Loves you Owl

Hi Everyone! Sorry I've been away so long. I won't go into too many details but March was a rough month myself and my children (doggies). I actually lost two of my babies and the other in in the vet hospital but on the road to recovery. I'm trying to get back into the swing of things, we'll see how that goes.

When I've been in a creative funk in the past I always rely on sketch challenges to get the creative juices flowing again. It give you a starting place so that you don't feel like you just don't know where to begin! I played in two of those challenges this week, extremely late to both of them but better late than never........right??

Here is the first one from the Mojo Monday sketch 80 challenge. This blog posts a new sketch each Monday morning and they are always great. Check it out if you are needing that creative nudge like I did!!

I used the set Owl Together Now, a very cute set with lots of great images in it. If you are an Owl lover as lots of people are this is a must have set for your collection! The image and the sentiment are both popped up. I used the InColor '08/'09 colors Pacific Point and Kiwi Kiss, all the InColors this round were great, I'm going to be sad to see them go. If you haven't purchased these yet you just have till July to do so, so you better hurry :-) I'll list all the details on what I used for this card in the card info area below.

Card Details:

  • 4-1/4 X 5-1/2" Card (side fold)
  • Ink - Chocolate Chip, Pacific Point, Kiwi Kiss
  • Stamp Set - Owl Together Now
  • Paper - Kiwi Kiss, Pacific Point, Chocolate Chip and Good Morning Sunshine DSP
  • Accessories - Kiwi Kiss striped grosgrain ribbon, trio flower punch, scalloped punch, circle punches and brads

This was a really fun card to make, hope you like how it turned out. Stay tuned for the next challenge card I did!!!
